The Present Perfect Tense


The Present Perfect Tense
Affirmative(+)
S+have/has +v3
He/she/it+Has+v3
I/we/you/they +have+v3
Examples:
I have played the piano since 2000
I have played the piano for five years.

Negative (-)
S+have/has +not+v3
He/she/it+Has+not+v3
I/we/you/they +have+not+v3
Examples:
 I have not eaten meal.
 She has not learnt a lesson.


Interrogative(?)
Have/has+s+v3
Have+I/we/you/they+V3?
Has+she/he/it+V3?
Examples:
Have you  ever watched  birds in Mai Po  Wetlands ?  
How many times have you visited HongKong Disneyland ?          
FUNCTION:   
*      We use the present perfect tense to talk about actions that started in the past and continue to the present.
EXAMPLES:
I’ve grown flowers for two years.
We use the present perfect tense with since and for to say how long an action has lasted.
EXAMPLES:
Amy has grown flowers since last month.
We use the Present Perfect tense to show the result of an action
(A)Ben is eating a chicken leg.
 (B)Ben has eaten a chicken leg.

We cannot use the Present Perfect tense with adverbs of time,
          e.g. yesterday, two weeks ago.
EXAMPLES:
I did my homework yesterday
SOME ADVERBS OF TIME IN THE PRESENT TENSE THAT WE CAN USE ARE ALREADY,JUST,EVER ,NEVER ,YET , RECENTLY, LATELY,IN THE FEW DAYS/WEEKS/MONTHS/SINCE AND FOR .


PROBLEM : I DIFFICULT TO MAKE SENTENCES IF ACCORDING FUNCTION . EXAMPLE :
      We use the present perfect tense to talk about actions that started in the past and continue to the present.
